Koningshoven chooses new distributor
From the official press release:
Bierbrouwerij de Koningshoeven of Tilburg, The Netherlands, brewer of Koningshoeven Trappist Ale, announces a new US importer, Artisanal Imports, Inc. of Austin, Texas. The beers were previously imported by Bavaria USA.
In October 2005 the International Trappist Association (I.T.A) announced that it grants the “Authentic Trappist Product” logo to all “La Trappe” beers produced in the Koningshoeven Brewery by the monks of Koningshoeven Abbey in Berkel-Enschot (Tilburg, The Netherlands). In the USA and Canada “La Trappe” is marketed as “Koningshoeven Trappist Ale”. Koningshoeven Trappist Ale will be available as Dubbel, Tripel, Quadrupel, White and a seasonal Trappist Bock.
What does this mean to you? Probably that it will be easier to find the Koninghoeven beers. Other brands handled by Artisinal include Urthel, Bosteels (Tripel Karmeleit and Kwak) and St. Feuillien. So if you already see those beers at your favorite bar or beer store you can ask them to see about stocking Koninghoeven (which you may not by the La Trappe name, but that’s another story).
